Rev. John Gilmore, RScP
John has always had an interest in ministry and the spiritual side of life.
As a young boy, he often imitated his father, a minister also, by preaching in
the backyard with his sister and others as the “congregation” and was known to
perform funerals for the pets of his friends.
He formally entered the ministry after graduating seminary in 1987. He was ordained in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and served as a pastor for 15 years. The call to the metaphysical grew stronger and stronger in his life and he answered it in 2002 by organizing Open Heart. Since then he has become a licensed practitioner with the United Centers for Spiritual Living and finds joy in being a minister and spiritual director in the New Thought–Ancient Wisdom tradition. Leadership Design
Lotus Model
An image of the lotus flower blossoms forth as a visual
design for our new model; each petal
representing one of the various groups and/or areas of our community. The flower’s
center core
represents the “Core Council” which reflects the participation
of members from each
group by intersecting with each petal. One person from each area sits on the
Core Council to provide overall leadership and representation. The movement
of opening and becoming is also a
powerful dynamic captured by this image.
